50% Barbera, 50% Merlot
For the first time since 2006, we created this Super Piemontese wine to reveal the great qualty of this unique blend of Barbera and Merlot cultivated from only a few selected blocks of our best vineyards. Colpo d’Ala ages in French oak barrels for a minimum of 18 months, getting structured for a long bottle aging. Deep ruby red, almost purple color with a magenta rim. An intense bouquet showing immediate elegance, depth and aromatic complexity. Vanilla and cinnamon on the nose with hints of licorice, tobacco, chocolate, and clove. This wine is medium to full bodied. A velvety texture, with vanilla, blackberry, and cassis. Once opened up, Marchesia Incisa Colpo d'Ala reveals more mature fruits such as figs and dried plums. Colpo d'Ala has balance, silk, persistence and an elegant structure. Total harmony of the senses.
