Grapes: Assyrtiko, Mission, Barbera
Region: Highland Hills Vineyard, San Diego, Southern California
Soil: Sandy loam and decomposed granite
Vinification: Foot-stomped and co-fermented on skins and stems. Spontaneous fermentation with native yeasts. Pressed to stainless tank after two days and aged on lees for five months until bottling.
Sulfites: 20 ppm sulfite at bottling. No other additions or manipulations.
Tasting Notes from the Producer: Structure, acid, and grit from Assyrtiko. Buoyant mix of red and blue berry fruit from the Mission and Barbera. A lightly extracted red wine with the bones of a serious white.
