$31.00Price

Birds of Passage is the brainchild of Henry Beylen, longtime wine director of Gjelina restaurant in Venice, CA. His goal is to make delicious and refreshing natural wines from organically farmed vineyards in Santa Barbara County. The wines are made with the assistance of Peter Hunken and Amy Christine MW at their winery Holus Bolus in Lompoc, CA.

Practices: Organic

Grapes: Grenache Blanc

Region: Santa Ynez Valley, CA

Vinification: The Grenache Blanc is sourced from a 1 acre planting just outside of the town of Solvang. The grapes are de-stemmed and then fermented on their skins in stainless steel for fifteen days before pressing. Aged in 228 liter neutral french oak for 6 months before bottling. Unfined/Unfiltered.

Sulfites: low addition at bottling

Total Production: 60 cases

Tasting Notes: Aromas of sandalwood and pineapple give way to a round mouthfeel with just a bit of tannin from the skin contact.
